Oral Histories
Print is not the only medium for communicating history. “Recorded histories”—interviews conducted for film or video—are a valuable supplement to the written record.

As a platform for founders, leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs, recorded histories not only capture memories of important ideas and events. They also preserve insights, anecdotes, dissenting opinions, alternatives considered—what might have happened but didn’t. Today, as writing gives way to new forms of digital communication, recorded histories can be a particularly important tool for communicating knowledge throughout an organization, across generations, or to constituents or the public in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Winthrop professionals are skilled in the techniques of researching, interviewing, directing, editing, and interpreting recorded histories. With extensive consulting experience, as well as specialized historical knowledge in a range of fields, including business, non-profit, and politics, we create recorded histories of enduring value.

Video, Multimedia, & the Web
We also produce interactive timelines and brief histories suitable for a website or other multimedia presentation, highlighting themes specifically relevant to your organization’s current needs and target audience.
