Archival resources management planning for sports association
The objective of Winthrop’s work for one sports association was to help improve management of its documentation and historical resources. The project involved compiling information about the electronic and hard copy documentation maintained at headquarters and the reference, research and access needs of staff members. Winthrop then prepared a series of recommendations concerning the records management and archives functions, including development of an intranet-based “virtual archives.” The client chose to implement our recommendations by creating a new position for a Records Manager/Archivist and Winthrop assisted by conducting the personnel search.
