INFORMATION & ARCHIVAL SERVICES Global archives initiative for a corporate client A corporate client with a well established archives engaged Winthrop to gather information and develop strategies and policies for a global archives initiative. Meetings were held and records were reviewed in six countries and the concept of a global archives network was introduced. A series of site visit reports were prepared. A final report reviewed the overall findings and recommended development of guidelines and standards relative to the types of materials to collect, and how they should be stored and described to facilitate their accessibility. Winthrop’s recommendations were accepted for implementation under the direction of the archivist.
