Training staff and volunteers for a museum archives
Utilizing funds donated by a benefactor, a museum’s director retained Winthrop to write a plan and budget for processing, storing, and providing security for the institution’s archival records. The museum then contracted with Winthrop to implement the plan, design the space allocation, and develop policies and a procedures manual. Concurrently, we trained selected volunteers to maintain the Archives’ collections and assist staff and external researchers. An “on call” retainer ensures that museum staff and volunteers have access to their Winthrop archivist.
