INFORMATION & ARCHIVAL SERVICES
Decentralization of archival resources for subsidiary’s use
Winthrop assisted one of the subsidiary manufacturing companies with the separation of its historical records. We then set up the archives at the request of the CEO. For the past fifteen years a Winthrop archivist has been responsible for processing and maintaining the Archives, for developing the collection, and for responding to reference and research requests for information. The archival collections are used for a wide variety of purposes, including intra- and extra-company communications, special events, engineering research, customer relations and legal support.
For the Office of General Counsel of a Fortune 100 client, Winthrop conducted a confidential records review and created an access designation database for 10,000 cubic feet of non-current records. This is just one of our services for this global corporation over a period of 10 years. Others include managing a multi-year, two-country research project, providing assistance with archival protocols for their global information management, and placing three archivists on-site to help staff the archives.
