HISTORIES
Trammell Crow Company
The commercial real estate services company Trammell Crow was evolving from a partnership to more of a corporate structure as professional managers were being brought in for the first time to do work previously done by real estate developers. The idea that a history might be useful for providing perspective on this change led Trammell Crow to Winthrop.
After research and dozens of interviews, Winthrop produced Trammell Crow, Master Builder: The Story of America's Largest Real Estate Empire (John Wiley & Sons). The book chronicles the rise of one of history's most important real estate developers, from its origins in local warehouses to its worldwide commercial property business. Ultimately, as a rare historical study of the real estate industry, the Trammel Crow history sold more than 20,000 copies outside the company.
