St. Bernard’s School contracted with Winthrop to examine its archival collections

As part of the planning for its centennial celebration in 2004, St. Bernard’s School contracted with Winthrop to examine its archival collections to determine their scope, extent, condition and make recommendations for how they might be better organized and managed.  Winthrop reviewed the gathered materials, an estimated 90 linear feet of photographs, student publications, brochures and catalogs, and course materials.  We also conferred with staff and members of the Parents Association responsible for the Archives to discuss the collections and their access needs.  A series of recommendations for improving the physical and intellectual organization of the collection led to a year-long project of intensive processing of the core collection.
