Pendleton Woolen Mills has a rich history dating back to 1863, when founder Thomas Kay came to Oregon and soon launched a woolen mill that led to the current company’s incorporation in 1909.  The iconic American brand has a robust Archives and has been a Winthrop client for more than two decades.  The company regularly uses it’s treasure of heritage resources for a wide variety of operations.  Most recently, Pendleton’s blog post on November 22 highlighted archival photos that tell the story of the firm’s association with Disney, a fascinating history that begins with the opening of Disneyland in 1955.  To read the full story (“Into the Archives: Rare Photos of the Pendleton Disneyland Store”) follow this link and see how one of America’s great companies uses its very special archival materials:
