The Charles B. Rangel Center for Public Center at The City College of New York is in the midst of a two-year effort to archive, preserve, and make available to the public thousands of letters, photographs, articles, awards, speeches and other material from Congressman Rangel’s 46-year career. Processing of the collection is expected to be completed by the summer of 2018. At that time, material will be available in-person through the college library’s archives division, with some material available in electronic form by means of an online portal.
A digital archivst from Winthrop carefully mapped out a thoughtful plan that would catalogue all pre-existing files, and organize all future assets. Within a few weeks Winthrop had captured descriptive metadata for thousands of backgrounds, props, character files and effects.
